Wow! What a fantastic day we had last Saturday on Love Your Yarn Shop Day. Despite the soggy bank holiday weather we met lots of new faces. We would like to thank Pam, Sandie, Janet and everyone else who helped us make the window look so colourful with all the woolly items they lent us. Our first ever Saturday Stitch Away was such a success that it is now going to be a weekly event! There was such a diverse age range who came along, which just goes to show you are never too young or old to express your creativity. We hope to be able to hold a similar day later in the year.
Part 2 of the Stylecraft crochet along was released this week entitled Tiny Lily. This is a beautiful block of an emerging lily and lots of these would look equally as lovely made into a blanket of their own. Here are mine and Tracey's Tiny Lily block alongside our Wave and Stripe block.
You are a crafty bunch and we would love to share all things woolly that you have made. If you have a knitted or crocheted item that you could spare for a few weeks we would love to borrow it to display in the window.
Drop them into the shop between now and the 1st May.
Help others become inspired!
It was a great start to the crochet along on the 7th April, Launch Day! Thank you to everyone who came and joined in with me, it is interesting to see the variation in our first blocks depending on whether we were using pastel shades, the Life DK or the Special DK. The first part of the pattern, Stripes & Waves has helped beginners practice the basic stitches and colour changes. Enthusiasm for the CAl has gone worldwide!
My Lily Pond is going to grow in the shop window, so keep an eye on it.
We will be starting the second installment on the 21st April. It's not too late to start, more details can be found on the Stylecraft website or contact us.
